Funding Options

Triton Hearing have a commitment to providing quality service to all clients and can help you explore a range of funding options available.

SuperGold Card
SuperGold cardholders over 65 are eligible for a $500 subsidy for each hearing aid purchased, meaning there is a possible $1000 subsidy available.

Please note this subsidy cannot be claimed in conjunction with any other subsidy.

ACC
From 1 January 2011, new regulations introduced by ACC allow a claimant to receive a contribution to the cost of hearing aids according to how much of the hearing loss is caused by injury (such as workplace noise). If your hearing loss is a mix of injury and age related factors, you will be eligible for some hearing aid funding from ACC and some from the Ministry of Health. This will be apportioned between the two agencies depending on how much of the total hearing loss is due to injury.

War Pensions
The War Pension fund covers costs associated with hearing loss as the result of war experiences.

Accessable
Accessable is an organisation that provides funding for medical treatment of disabled individuals. Accessable partially funds hearing aids for people who fit entitlement criteria. To be eligible for this funding the treatment must be helping the client towards employment, education or a number of other worthy pursuits.

Government Funding
A government subsidy of $500 per hearing aid is available to all New Zealand citizens and residents. At Triton Hearing this subsidy is automatically deducted from the price of hearing aids.

Government beneficiaries have access to an interest free loan through WINZ. Money is deduced from weekly benefit payments until the loan is repaid.

Please note this subsidy cannot be claimed in conjunction with any other subsidy.

Private
Private clients fund their own hearing rehabilitation independently. However, private health insurance may cover the costs of hearing assessments (if the person is recommended to have an assessment by a specialist).

Finance
For clients that would like more flexible payment options finance plans are available via GE Finance, Farmers Card, and Q Card. Please contact Triton to discuss finance options available.
