Hearing Aid Funding Options
A range of funding options are available when purchasing hearing devices. We’ll guide you and make it easy to get started.
Ministry of Health Subsidy Scheme
Available once every six years, the Ministry of Health subsidy scheme is the most common form of funding for hearing aids. The only criteria required are that you are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and are over the age of 16. As the name suggests, the subsidy scheme will only subsidise the total cost of your hearing aid purchase by $511.11 per ear, or $1022.22 for a pair of hearing aids. Your audiologist can apply for this on your behalf. They will subtract the funding amount from your initial hearing aid quote.
