How does it work?

It only takes four steps to be ready for Virtual Hearing Care. You will start with
  1. Downloading the myPhonak app to your smartphone
  2. Ensuring that the Bluetooth® connection of your smartphone is switched on
  3. Connecting your hearing devices with your smartphone by turning them on and off
  4. After that, you finish by connecting your devices to the myPhonak app by following the steps shown in the app.

What will Virtual Hearing Care be like?

It is like video calling your friends and family via your smartphone but with an audiologist instead. The key to Virtual Hearing Care is our easy-to-use smartphone app. On one side, you can use the app to talk to with an audiologist. But on the other side, the audiologist can connect with your hearing devices via the app and adjust them right in that moment to help you hear better. All you need is:

  • Phonak hearing devices with Bluetooth connectivity
  • A Bluetooth enabled smartphone
  • The myPhonak app downloaded to your smartphone*
  • Stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or at least 3G)

What do I need for Virtual Hearing Care?
All you need is a smartphone and Phonak hearing devices, both Bluetooth enabled, the myPhonak app on your smartphone and a steady internet connection (WiFi or at least 3G connection).
 
The myPhonak app works on smartphones with iOS version 12 or newer as well as with smartphones with Android 7.0 or newer. The smartphone must minimally support Bluetooth 4.2.
Which hearing devices do I need for Virtual Hearing Care?
Virtual Hearing Care is currently available for Phonak Marvel or Phonak Paradise devices with Bluetooth connectivity. Please reach out to us on 0800 515 515 if you need help identifying the type of your hearing devices.
 
How do I get ready for Virtual Hearing Care?
It only takes four steps to be ready for Virtual Hearing Care. After that, all you need to do is to book a virtual appointment.

Step 1: Downloading the myPhonak app
First, download the myPhonak app to your smartphone. The myPhonak app works on smartphones with iOS version 12 or newer as well as with smartphones with Android 7.0 or newer. The smartphone must minimally support Bluetooth 4.2.

Step 2: Activating Bluetooth
You have successfully downloaded the myPhonak app. Next, make sure the Bluetooth connection of your smartphone is turned on by checking your mobile settings. Stay in the Bluetooth settings of your smartphone before moving to the next step.

Step 3: Preparing your hearing devices and connect them to your smartphone
Now, you’ll need to prepare your hearing devices so you can connect them with your smartphone. On the following pages, you'll find step by step content how to do so:  
Step 4: Connecting your devices to the myPhonak app
Your devices are paired with your smartphone and can be connected to the myPhonak app. Open the app and follow the steps indicated in the app. On the following pages, you'll find step by step content what to do: Now you are ready for your first Virtual Care session.
