Just before Christmas but a sharp contrast to my previous visit. The audiologist opened up the clinic, which is fine. The conver got onto how “it’s getting (wierd:crazy out there)-also fine . She was moving house so was under pressure I imagine.
I asked if a certain model had Bluetooth capability and she diligently looked up that info.
She commented that ‘every time she sees me she is anxious/super busy’. While this may not have been intended personally, it was uncomfortable and I thought inappropriate in a professional setting. She may not have meant anything by it . Time was ticking on but she was able to confirm about the model I was asking by the end of the appointment. She did say “if she had known what j wanted before ” it would have been easier. I DID communicate to the person who made the booking but obviously this was not passed on as handover notes (NOTE - this would be a good system improvement enhancing the image of Triton and maintaining faith by the )potential) customer,
When it came time to finish we got up and walked to reception to get the printed out quotes.
I was asked to sign documents without clear guidance on which forms applied to me, and attention had already shifted to another customer. When this was later corrected, responsibility was placed on me, which felt dismissive
When I raised my discomfort, she apologised, however the interaction felt rushed and the apology did not restore confidence or a sense of being heard.
Yes, Christmas about to happen ; the silly season but the cumulative effect of incidents in this encounter felt I wasn’t being treated respectfully but ‘managed’ after challenging her.
And that is not even talking about $4000 tag on the hearing device. Irrespective of how much I could potentially be paying,adequate care and completion should be the aim for maintaining customer confidence and feeling valued.
